Dotti is a private period, cycle, and PCOS tracking app. This policy explains, plainly, what happens with your information. The short version: your health data is yours. We don't sell it, we don't advertise to you, there are no trackers, and we don't share it with anyone.
You can record things like periods, symptoms, moods, medications (including optional photos of them), lab results, medical-history notes, your name, and — if you choose — your birth year. All of it is information you choose to enter, and none of it is required.
To use Dotti you create an account with an email address and a password. That lets you sign in on any device — your phone, a new phone, a tablet — and find your history waiting for you, and it lets you recover access if you forget your password.
Your email address is used to sign you in, to verify your address, and to send you a reset link if you ask for one. We don't send marketing email.
We think you deserve a clear answer rather than a marketing claim. Your data is not protected by a secret key that only you hold. It's protected by your account and by the security of our database. In practice that means someone with administrative access to that database could technically read it.
We don't do that. We don't sell your data, we don't mine it, we don't hand it to advertisers, and we don't look at it. Access is limited to what is genuinely needed to keep the service running and secure, or where the law requires it of us.
We made this trade deliberately, and you should know why: the alternative locks your data to a key derived from your password, which sounds better until you forget that password — at which point your entire history is gone forever, and nobody, including us, can bring it back. We chose the design where you can sign in anywhere and recover your account. If you'd rather your data never left your phone at all, you can export an encrypted backup and delete your account.

This is entirely optional, you choose exactly what to share in Apple's own permission screen, and you can turn it off at any time in the Health app. Data obtained from Apple Health is used only to show and track your cycle inside Dotti. We do not use Health data for advertising or marketing, we do not use it for data mining, and we do not disclose it to third parties.
If you're switching from another tracker (Flo, Clue, Apple Health, or any app that exports a file), you can import your history into Dotti.
Dotti asks for photo and camera access only so you can attach a picture of a medication, or pick screenshots to import. Medication photos are stored with your data. Screenshots used for importing are not stored at all.
No analytics, no advertising, no trackers, no third-party SDKs that phone home. What we hold is: your email address, and the health information you choose to enter. Our hosting providers also process the technical data needed to deliver a request, such as your device's IP address, which we don't use to identify or profile you.
That's the whole list. Nobody else receives your information, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, your email address, and all of your data from your device and from our database. It is immediate and final — we cannot recover it for you afterwards. Copies may persist in our short-term encrypted backups until those age out.
You can generate a PDF report to share with your healthcare provider. The PDF is created on your device and shared only when, and with whom, you choose.
Dotti is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
